Clearing Your Desk of Clutter
The 2nd Monday in January is designated as National Clean Off Your Desk Day. This is a great day to focus on clearing the top of your desk and other surfaces in your office of paper piles that have been there for weeks, months or years. Following are a few strategies to tackle the paper so you can finally see the surface of your desk and find documents the first time you look.
Mail -Place mail for review in one location and toss or shred the junk mail.
Product Suggestion–Basket/Bins/Trays-Create a system for incoming mail to be placed until you are ready to process it.
Statements/Receipts- Statements for bills that have been paid and receipts from purchases are usually documents you keep for a period of time. To reduce paperwork these documents can be scanned
Product Suggestion– A filing cabinet and scanner to keep documents organized and accessible.
Legal/Original-Wills, Estate Plans, Trusts and Deeds
