Spring Clean Your Life

Spring is here and I bet you have got your Spring cleaning list all ready.  Organize the closet, shampoo the carpet and clean out the garage.  What about your life?  When was the last time you reviewed your life insurance policy? Have you checked your credit report lately for accuracy? Is your medical information organized?  Are you missing important appointments because you don’t always get notifications?

With everything we manage we believe once we pay off our debt, get insurance or get an online calendar everything will be ok. Not necessarily so, we have all heard a horror story of someone’s identity being stolen, overpayment in insurance premiums and appointments that seem to never get entered into the calendar. Following are four areas you want to focus on this Spring along with the resources to help you get your life in order.

Your Health

In 2018 I decided to schedule an appointment for every medical exam that was required.  Once that was completed I needed a better system to track it all. It was nice to have a place to record all those results as well as my blood type.   The My Body Passport allowed me to record my test results and medical history. I wish I had a product like this when I was taking care of my Mother.  It would have been much easier to manage all her medical information.

Your Money

Do you have enough life insurance? Are your investments making money?  Do you have a will or estate plan? These are questions you need to ask yourself periodically as you have major life changes like children, property, etc.  I once worked with a client that was 99 years young that was the executor of her sister’s estates.  There were so many copies of Wills and insurance policies. I shredded what was not valid and organized the rest.  The time is now to evaluate or put in place measures to ensure that you and your family will be taken care of should no matter what. Your Credit

When was the last time you checked your credit report to ensure it was accurate?  March is Credit Education Month so check out my podcast where my guest Tara Colquitt The Credit Woman shares how to get organized about your credit.

Your Time

I can’t even begin to tell you how many planners, calendars and organizers I have used over the years.  I recently realized that I need more that my online calendar to keep me on track.  I believe especially if you are managing more than just your schedule you need to see the big picture to be a better planner so you know when you can say yes and when you need to say no.

To help me manage it all I use a weekly planner.  I established a weekly routine which consist of reviewing my schedule, planning my meals and selecting my outfits.  Click the following link to add this to your Family Command Center.
