I recently wrote an eBook titled Prepared and Organized: 7 Areas to Tackle During Challenging Times. The truth is, we’re all navigating different seasons—some more challenging than others. For me, being organized isn’t just something I teach—it’s how I live.

To practice what I preach, I’ve focused on these seven areas to ensure that, no matter what life throws my way, I’m ready. These are simple but powerful tips that can help anyone stay grounded and prepared:

  1. Pantry Staples
I keep a supply of canned goods and essentials like rice, beans, white and red vinegar, and baking soda—items that are versatile and last a long time.
  2. Personal Care Items
I make sure I have plenty of toilet paper, soap, and other hygiene products so I don’t have to worry during unexpected situations.
  3. Emergency Essentials
A working flashlight and a full set of batteries (AAA to D) are always within reach. Preparedness brings peace of mind.
  4. Clothing
I’ve packed a small bag with t-shirts, socks, sweats, underwear and a sweater—just in case I need to grab and go quickly.
  5. Important Documents
My documents are organized and accessible. No time is wasted searching when everything has its place.
  6. Financial Overview
I track my income and expenses using a simple spreadsheet. It helps me stay informed, make better decisions, and reduce financial stress.
  7. Self-Care
I take a daily walk or quiet moment to breathe—and weekly, I carve out time to do absolutely nothing. Rest is not a luxury; it’s a necessity.

Staying prepared doesn’t have to be overwhelming—it just takes a little planning.
