I can’t believe that we are almost half way through 2020 and unlike past years I am exhausted and emotionally drained.  I know I am not alone and like many of you am wondering when all this will be over. 

Following are a few things I am doing to help me rest these last couple of weeks in June to get myself geared up for the next have of 2020:

  1. Do Nothing- Yes do nothing. Prop up your feet, watch a movie, read your favorite book or just sit outside and watch the breeze blow the leaves. 
  2. Take A Walk-I find walking very therapeutic so I schedule a walk at least 5 days a week when I walk at least 10,000 steps and a long walk at least 15,000 steps once a week. I lace up the sneakers without thinking of time and get walking.
  3. Call A Friend- Sometimes when I am walking I will call a friend to join me virtually. This helps me stay connected which is important as someone who lives alone.
  4. Do Something-organize a drawer, repot a plant or do that DIY project.  When I work on my plants it takes me away and relieves stress.
  5. Give-I feel that when you give of your time, talent and your money it can take the attention off of you and your problem.  I can be very tired but when I can help someone and it could be just a conversation it energizes me.
