Last month I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Christy Lingo host of Cocktails and Containers where I shared the following Holiday Time Management Tips:
- Start by thinking about what the holiday means to you and what type of fun you want to have.
- Prioritize the activities that meet this criterion.
- As the invites roll in, don’t forget to check the schedule around the event. Do you have something before or after the event that you need to plan for like a business trip that could delay you from arriving on time or an early morning meeting the day after the party. Remember to add in margin…it isn’t just the activities you need to account for, but the preparation and recovery. Be sure to think about this as you fill your holiday schedule.
- When it comes to balancing the “must-do’s with the want to-do”, take a look at your schedule on a regular basis to figure out when you can find the time for grocery shopping , laundry, house cleaning , and so on.
- If you can afford it or figure out a way to work it into your holiday budget, this might be the time of year where you hire help with some of these tasks so you can enjoy time with your family without falling behind.
- And remember delegating task may also contribute to lower stress and more enjoyment during your holiday season.
Do you have a time management strategy that gets you through the holidays? If so please share.
